My name is Lue, I run a small vegan cheese startup called Black Arts Vegan based in London, UK.
After a decade in academia, specialising as a Forensic Entomologist, I realised that the work wasn’t fulfilling me and that my field of research was becoming increasingly at odds with my vegan lifestyle. I decided to leave that career path in 2016 and set up a vegan cheese company in October 2017 with the aim of making tasty vegan cheeses that melted properly. 21 months in, I’ve sold out at many markets, have gained a number of wholesale clients and have been featured in the likes of Vice, Munchies, Vegan Food & Living and Food Spark. I’m currently speaking with investors about how to take my business to the next level.
