We are too excited about our upcoming 2019 Women Are Roses Award Ceremony that is taking place in Colorado on June 1,2019. During this event we will laugh, we will cry but most of all we will celebrate each other for everything that WE have done as women to inspire other women. One of this year’s Women Are Roses Honorees is Michelle Besay. Please take moment to read about her now:
Michelle Besay is an author based in Atlanta, Georgia. Born to Jamaican parents, Michelle grew up with a strong sense of culture and creativity. Music and writing became threaded into her being, and she started using them both as release mechanisms at a very young age. Though Michelle came from a very good home, she endured some tough times as a teenager, and the shadow of those hurts followed her into adulthood.
After years of pain, self-sabotage, and self-loathing, she reached her breaking point. One day, following a three-hour emotional breakdown, Michelle decided it was time for a, much needed, change. She’d lost herself, dimmed her light, hindered her power, and it was heartbreaking. She turned her lens inward and started doing some serious work on self. Therapy became a vital outlet. The more she was able to tell her truth in that safe space, the more she wanted to improve. The more she improved, the more she got to know herself again. Being able to find herself, allowed her to become better in her everyday roles of mother, sister, and daughter. Gaining more control, she started meditating every day, dove deep into her spirituality and was able to reclaim her freedom. Her unwavering sense of compassion for people has stemmed from that freedom. With the discovery of writing meditations, the blocks she had, started to melt away, and her creative juices were able to freely flow again. Through her healing and meditation, Michelle learned to detach from her pain. Feeling inspired to help others do the same, she has vowed to walk in her purpose of helping heal the world.
With a heart from, of, and for the universe, Michelle shares her gifts with charismatic consciousness. With loving compassion for all living beings, she has the ability to meet everyone where they are, while helping them believe in a silver line; mainly, because she believes there always is one. Coining herself the “Writer of All Things Internal”, she’s made it her mission to create work focused on mindfulness, open-mindedness, and relatability. She is intentional about sharing her story, from fall to rise, so that others may be inspired to become transparent, heal, and blaze a happy trail through their pain. She, sometimes, goes by the pseudonym high.vibe.five. She wanted to use something that would constantly inspire her when she used it. Breaking it down, Michelle explains that keeping vibrations high means keeping your energy right and protected. It means always staying positive and choosing to look at any situation from an angle that makes you feel good. Five is her life path number. It is calculated by adding all the parts of your birthday together until you get one digit. Life path number 5 is associated with having a free spirit, expressing that freedom, being a great writer, and inspiring others.
Michelle’s work has been featured in Anti-Heroin Chic online journal, No Conduct Radio blog, Women With Gifts International website, and Medium. As she continues to write, Michelle is also working on becoming certified in holistic healing. Along with gaining a master level certification in the practice of mindfulness, her plan is to study conscious connected breath, Reiki (energy healing), and sound healing. These modalities have helped her, and she wants to be able to pay it forward by bringing awareness to their benefits. You can find her on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter @high.vibe.five
