A LETTER TO MY YOUNGER SELF
Hey people!! First of all, I would like to thank Women with Gifts for coming out with this creative idea of writing a letter to our younger self. Even though I am still in my early twenties and I have not achieved anything great yet because I believe myself to be ‘A work in progress’ but still there are certain things that I wished someone would have told me during my adolescent years. So, let’s begin!!
Dear younger ME,
You are a champ. You are a Rockstar. Even though you are an introvert and you are trying so hard to fit in, but you are born to stand out. So, don’t bother! Don’t try this hard girl. People don’t deserve these many efforts. They will never value this. They’ll just see if you are their type or not. Even if you try to change yourself for them, they won’t care either. Because you know why? People just want to be with those who they want to be with. And if you feel that they are not your kind of people. Don’t worry. Better things and better people will come your way at the right time.
When I was in my teen years, I was very shy, I didn’t open up with a lot of people and always tried to fit in my so-called ‘group’. I always felt that I didn’t belong to them. No matter how hard I tried I just couldn’t get along with them. I used to feel out of place all the time. And as time passed, we all drifted away eventually. But I didn’t care that much because as they say when things don’t go as you hope it will, that means something better is coming your way. And it did. I found the correct people soon after. I could really connect with them. And it didn’t require any efforts either. Because when the right people come your way, it doesn’t require any effort, it just happens! And it’s the best thing that could happen!!
So just hang in there! Things will get better soon. Don’t give up. Don’t try so hard. Because as I said you are born to stand out. You’ll become a Gratisoul one day and motivate hundreds and thousands of people with your stories!! (Haha)
