Most of the time, when we attempt to communicate with others we do not really listen because we are too busy thinking about how to respond. Not responding in the manner to communicate effectively only responding to be right. Why is it so important to be right?
When I’m wrong do I take a moment to apologize? When I’m right I stick out my chest, hold my head up high and I walk really really tall! Why do I feel empowered when I’m right? Why is it such a big deal to be right just to prove someone else wrong? What do I have to prove when I’m right?
Sadly, most of the time when people focus on being right they are less likely to learn or listen effectively.
The more we attempt to be right; the more we use our righteous ways and end up wrong!-LK
