Do you get angry? What does your anger look like? Do you stump, kick, curse? The question to ask yourself this week is do I have an anger issues? Here’s another question—-> what makes us angry in the first place? Sometimes our anger arises because things don’t seem to go out way. Could even be as simple as kids getting on our last nerve. The list for what makes us angry could go on and on.
Here’s tips on anger:
- Don’t rise to the conflict.
- Pick every battle wisely and only after you have carefully thought about the situation at hand.
- Take a moment and breathe and relax. Remember that the situation is not as bad as you thought.
Here’s what the Bible tells how to handle our anger:
My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. James 1:19, 20 NIV
Fools give full vent to their rage but the wise bring calm in the end. Proverbs 29:11 NIV
Often it is not the situation that made us feel angry, it is our perception of that situation. Take a moment and find your inner peace. Don’t let anger take control of your thoughts. Don’t let your personal feelings and beliefs color the situation, instead find your inner peace and access the true situation before you react.
