Recently, we shared a missing person report on Cora Brown. However today we learned that Cora is no longer missing and has been arrested since our recent report. More information provided below by the Riley Police Department:
On Thursday May 25, 2017, Wichita Police Department (WPD) received information that a vehicle matching the description in prior press releases from the Riley County Police Department was at a Motel 6 on E. Kellogg Dr. in Wichita. WPD responded to the scene and were able to determine the vehicle was a match.
WPD officers then made contact with Steven Harris. Harris and Cora Brown, who was also at the Motel 6, were arrested without incident.Harris was arrested on a Riley County District Court warrant for 1st degree murder and attempted 1st degree murder. Harris’ bond was set at $2,000,000.00. Harris remains confined in Wichita at this time.
WPD also arrested Cora Brown on a Riley County District Court warrant for possession of methamphetamine. Brown’s bond was set at $20,000.00. Brown also remains confined in Wichita at this time.
Both Harris and Brown will be transferred to the Riley County Jail. There are no indications at this point in the investigation that Brown was in danger.
We would like to thank Wichita Police Department for their assistance, as well as the various local and nonlocal agencies who assisted in the search and arrest of Steven Harris, as well as the many thousands of citizens who remained vigilant throughout the investigation.
