At 10 years old Egypt Ufele, who goes by “Ify” was made fun of  in school because of her weight, and says she was even stabbed with a pencil by bullies.Instead of sulking in grief about her circumstances, the resilient fifth-grader took out her grandmother’s sewing machine and started creating a fashion line for all women, including plus-size women, which was featured in New York’s Fashion Week.

After being called every name in the book, it appears as if the tide has changed for the fashionable fifth-grader

“People applaud me and tell me I’m good at fashion,” Ify said.Ify’s line is titled “Chubiline,” which she describes as bringing “Africa to America one design at a time.”“I turned negative attention into positive attention,” Ify said. And she did all of this at just 10 years old. Imagine what she does at 20?
