A female teacher at a Fort Worth all-boys school was arrested Wednesday, accused of having an improper relationship with a 15-year-old student, including taking him out of state without his parents’ knowledge.
Alina Leung, a sixth- and seventh-grade teacher at the P.L. Dunbar Young Men’s Leadership Academy, was arrested at her North Richland Hills apartment, according to Sgt. Wade Walls, supervisor of the crimes against children unit.
Leung, 29, faces charges of sexual assault of a child, unlawful restraint and improper relationship between a teacher and student.
She was still being booked into the Mansfield jail by Wednesday evening. The recommended bail was a total of $35,000.The relationship came to light after the teen’s father opened the family’s laptop on Jan. 20 and found his son’s Facebook page still open, according to an arrest warrant affidavit written by crimes against children Detective D.M. Savage.
The father discovered that his son and Leung had been exchanging messages indicating the teen and teacher had an improper relationship, the affidavit states.The boy’s parents notified the academy’s principal about the messages. The principal notified Fort Worth police.
