Most of us either hear or read about people talking about their so called “haters”. Haters is the new term that people use to describe their enemies. The Urban Dictionary defines a hater as a person that simply cannot be happy for another person’s success. So rather than be happy they make a point of exposing a flaw in that person. Hating, the result of being a hater, is not exactly jealousy. The hater doesn’t really want to be the person he or she hates, rather the hater wants to knock someone else down a notch.
I choose to describe a hater as someone Having Anything To Entertain Realists. Take a moment to read: Psalm 23:5
Psalm 23:5 (KJV) Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
After reading Psalm 23:5, you will notice in this passage our “haters” have a tad bit of relevance because they have purpose of being able to witness the goodness that God blesses us with. Today’s inspiration however is not about our haters because today we want to focus on our FRIENDS.
When thinking about FRIENDS I thought about an old song by Whodini called “Friends” a song that came out in 1984. Back in the 80’s I really didn’t pay attention to the lyrics I was more concerned with the beat. Now that I’m older, building strong connections and friendships are important to me. More important that worrying and complaining about my enemies. 🙂
Read the lyrics of FRIENDS:
How many of us have them?
Ones we can depend on
Friends-How many of us have them? We all want friends but how often are we willing to go the extra mile to be a friend? In order to have a great friend you must be a great friend. I know that that methodology doesn’t always hold to be true but at least it’s a start to being a great friend.
