People ask me all the time about my experience at Full Figured Fashion Week. At the time I had the opportunity to be apart of this event I really didn’t know anything about it. didn’t know what to expect. However, I will always be grateful for the experience. It was because of my collaboration with Pretty Pear Bride Magazine in 2012 that I was afforded the opportunity to travel to New York and also attend this plus-size fashion show/event. At the time of attending this event, I’d only been in business with Just Pearlz for two years and this fashion show was a great place to showcase my jewelry and accessories.
If you’re a new business owner you may struggle with fear of taking risks, but I’m grateful that I took the risk to pack up and attend this event. By attending this event, I was able to sell my jewelry and accessories, connect with other bloggers, magazines and fashion designers and I had tons of fun in the process-I LOVE NEW YORK. Oh and I forgot to mention that my jewelry pieces were also used for a feature in an edition of POSE Magazine. I met the editor and chief of POSE Magazine at FFFweek. I’m so grateful to God the allowing my business to be apart of so many great opportunities..
Here’s my advice to anyone new to owning a business or have considered owning a business: Owning a business is not really about the customers, personally I believe that owning a business is about owning YOU. Know who you are and trusting in you. Don’t start a business because it looks fun because honestly it’s alot of hard work. Own yourself first and then the business and customer will come. Know who you are and TRUST you and your better judgement. The one thing consumers like is consistency and someone trustworthy.
Here’s me and Justpearlz.com again in the 2015 edition of Queen Size Magazine!
