How to create and use a VISION BOARD

My daughter and I, have been doing vision boards for the past ten years.
At first it was a sort of art activity and family bonding type of thing
for her and I to do, then we saw dramatic results and we have been
hooked ever since. Below are some thoughts as a veteran Vision Board
Developer that I would like to share.

WHAT IS A VISION BOARD
A Vision Board is a physical or virtual pictorial montage of words,
things or ideas that a person has a vision for in general or a specific
area of their life usually done for a year at a time at the beginning of
the year. A Vision Board can create direction, clarity, motivation and
inspiration.

HOW DO YOU CREATE A VISION BOARD
How a person creates their Vision Board is open to their individual
creativity and sense of personality. Notebooks, cardboard any size,
scrap booking books, notepaper, notepaper encased in sheet protectors or
even index cards. My suggestion is to use whatever you may have on hand
or can purchase Inexpensively.

WHAT WILL YOU NEED
You will need your board or paper you have chosen
Glue if a physical Vision Board
Magazines, Trade Journals, printouts from computer
Scissors
Pens, Markers, or crayons to write words, themes in your handwriting
Computer and printer if you are going to type and print words,
affirmations, power words or pictures meaningful to you
Pictures of yourself you can paste onto the Vision Board

HOW TO MAKE A VISION BOARD
1. Cut and paste.
As you are cutting things out whatever resonates with you cut it out.
Don’t think about it, don’t disqualify things based on your current
situation. You can cut things out and then glue on your board or you can
cut out and place on your board as you go along.
Make sure to have a picture of yourself in the center of the board as
well.
You can place as much as you want on the board or as little as you want.
I usually use as much on my board as it will hold.
Now you have a Vision Board!
2. Find a location for your Vision Board
Place your Vision Board in a location you will see daily
3. Look at your Vision Board every day.
The best times to look at your board is in the morning and before you go
to bed.

ONLINE VISION BOARDS
If you opt to do a Vision Board virtually the following are some apps
you can download. Virtual Vision Boards are as simple as copy and paste
with the click of your mouse. The principles here are the same in that
you will want to have a picture of you in the Vision Board and to look
at it daily.

VISION BOARD HACKS
A person can create Visions Boards for various areas in their life and
have a separate Vision Board for health, their business, their career, a
vacation, family life, work life, etc.
Visions Boards can be done yearly, monthly, quarterly or semi-annually.
It is very important to take a few minutes to look at your Vision Board
every day. You make want to event schedule an event on your cell phone
to remind you to look at your Vision Board.
It is a good idea to have a picture you like of yourself in the center
of the board.

VISION BOARDS AND CHRISTIANS
“Where there is no vision, the people perish…” Proverbs 29:18 Vision
Boards can be very relevant to Christians and a person could even
develop one for their ministry or church vision.

VISION BOARDS AND FAMILIES
A family can sit down and develop their own Vision Boards and also do a
Family Vision Board as to where they see the relationships in the family
going, family vacations, family goals.

VISION BOARDS AND WORK GROUPS
Work groups can also sit down at work or after 5pm and work on a board
specific for where they see the company going, projects they see
working on, etc

VISION BOARDS AND SPOUSES
Spouses can also work on a separate Vision Board but also design one
together based on where they see the relationship going, time together,
vacations, date nights, etc.
