Why Christians should put God first

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. In life we must put first things first. The bible clearly instructs us on what should be first in our lives. Kingdom living and seeking God’s righteousness should be our primary focus.
Often times God is an afterthought or in some cases no thought is even given to Him. For some God is remembered quicker in times of trouble and forgotten quickly when things are going good. When God is not included in their lives, it is a recipe for disaster. It is like building on sand instead of a sure foundation. They rely on their own strength and understanding. Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

God requires our first fruits. We should honor him first in our giving. Proverbs 3:9 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase: Moreover, He should be first in all things. When we wake up in the morning, before we sleep, before we eat, before we marry, before we take a job, before we start a new business and before we begin any endeavor. Proverbs 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.God has a purpose for everyone but not everyone lives in their purpose.Living with purpose is a thoughtful process that starts with a vision. It requires you to set goals, outline a plan of action, recognize milestones, assess and prepare for possible risks, visualize the expected end and diligently work to accomplish your vision. If you find yourself aimlessly going through life with no concrete written plan then your path is one of destruction and you must change direction.

Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish.
Seek God for your purpose and ask yourself, what is my passion? I have found that you will be passionate about your purpose. Your actions will be directly tied to your vision and your level of commitment will be demonstrated in your consistency in making it a reality. You have to be convinced that it is possible even when others do not see it. You have seen it and know the end result but the journey to it becomes a faith walk. We walk by faith and not by sight. Stretch pass the limitations of your past experiences, ignore the naysayers and believe God for greater, believe him for impossibilities and yes dare to dream big. Some people allow fear to paralyze them from moving forward in their purpose. They allow negative thoughts to clutter their minds and they feel defenseless against the attacks they face. These tactics are devised to destroy their purpose. However, God has given us authority over the attacks.

2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Be willing to step out of your comfort zone and run to Goliath and conquer your fear. I have personally committed myself to developing a consistent prayer life and studying the word of God. This approach has increased my faith and provides greater clarity to my journey. I trust God to order my steps as I acknowledge Him in all that I do.
Giving up and throwing in the towel are common themes that will surface. It is the voice of reason that will provide you with legitimate concerns and issues.
It will be the voice to talk you out of your destiny. You will be able to recognize that voice because it will talk against your vision. The voice that you should incline your ear to is God. John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

Putting first things first is a decision and choice to setting order in your life and becoming strategic in living with purpose. Remember a vision given by God can only be achieved through God.
As we make God our Father first priority, we will began to experience the peace that surpasses all understanding and see first hand the miraculous power of God.
